Why do a family session in Angel Islington? Let’s tell you a story.

To non-Londoners Angel Islington is known as a piece on the monopoly board, but to Londoners it’s known as a loveable chic place buzzing with Cafes, bars and restaurants. Most notably, it’s known for its theatre found in Saddler Wells known for one of the most amazing plays. 

We found ourselves in Angel Islington after being contacted by the Smith family during a warm Tuesday evening. Our work phone buzzed to life, and we were greeted with Mrs. Smiths voice.

 “Hello”. Mrs Smith inquired about getting a family photograph done by professional family photographers. 

She had described her home had felt bare. They had recently moved into Angel (Islington) into a cozy 3 bedroom flat, but they hadn’t felt it was home yet. We had a strong feeling that they were missing a key piece to a home, memorabilia.

So the date was settled, we picked a warm weekend to do a family photoshoot in Islington. My partner and I loaded up our trusty equipment, a powerful Nikkon camera & Fujifilm XT-3 duo. After arriving at their house we were greeted by their two sons, Alfie and Oliver. The Smiths were delightful, they offered us tea and lovely chat.

During our conversation, we found that the Smiths felt uneasy, and a bit worried about preparing for photographs.  We talked about one of our principles of photography at WeShootYou, which is to ensure the environment is relaxed as possible without anything artificial hence why the family photoshoot took place in their home as opposed to a studio.

We begun taking photographs of the Smiths, playing with Alfie and Oliver and their dinosaur toys, following them around while they enjoyed the evening. We managed to snag many mischievous smiles, and joy from the sons to family and ended up with over 40 picture perfect photographs

The Smiths ended up getting a huge canvas with all of them huddled together smiling to put over their Chimney.

As a family photographers in London Our rate for a session is £250. This is used for my our time spent taking photographs of your family, and the time of the portrait reveal. At the reveal session you will be able to see the variety of photographs taken and select from your favourites to create physical keepsakes to immortalise those memories forever.
